| (360)-882-3581 Vancouver, WA email: alton@altonchung.com www.altonchung.com Storyteller Alton Chung combines a rich cultural heritage, drawing inspiration from his Japanese and Korean roots, as well as being influenced by the superstitions, stories, and magic of the Hawaiian Islands, where he grew up. He enjoys weaving ethnic tales, true stories, and legends from many lands, but his true passion is telling ghost stories. When telling stories, he is in constant motion. His hands and body never stay still as he effortlessly moves from story to story, embodying each character with their own voice, unique body movements, animated facial expressions, and flowing gestures. He breathes life into any tale he tells making them come alive and dance. Alton is an Eth-Noh-Tec apprentice and a member of the Eth-Noh-Tec Ensemble. Alton has have been a teller at the Talk Story Festival in Honolulu, HI, the Tcha Tee Man Wi Festival in Corvallis, OR, the Stories-By-The-Sea Festival in Newport, OR, and the Tapestry of Tales in Portland, OR. “Professional Storyteller Alton Chung tells stories that awaken you, not only to the richness found in Hawaiian tales, chilling legends of ghosts, and delightful childhood remembrances, but he also allows everyone who hears him, to truly see him. When he is sharing his stories, he is alive in the telling. This talent is not to be missed. Everyone, children and adults, should open their eyes, and their hearts will soon follow, when Alton tells.” Kevin D. Cordi, National Storyteller Co-Chair of Youth Storytelling for the National Storytelling Network Executive Director of the Youth Storytelling Olympics |
