| 4072 NE 10th Ave Portland, OR 97210 503-720-0397 email: rick@rickhuddle.com www.rickhuddle.com Hailing from a long line of teachers and Southern preachers (and a short line of clowns), Rick Huddle has storytelling in his blood. For the last 10 years, he has been sharing his love of storytelling with children and adults at schools, libraries, festivals, and coffee shops in and around Portland and Seattle. With exuberance, and sometimes a guitar sing-a-long, Rick tells humorous and inspiring stories about princesses who slay dragons, monsters that play kickball, and cows that dance. Occasionally, he’ll even tell a story that lets him sit down. Some are original stories and some are folktales, but all of the stories emphasize personal growth and challenge stereotypes. Rick has performed at numerous libraries, schools, and festivals all over Oregon and Washington including: the Northwest Folklife Festival in Seattle, Tapestry of Tales (Multnomah County's Storytelling Festival),Hearing Voices (Washington Co. Storytelling Festival), Wilsonville Festival of the Arts, and the Tin Shed, Portland's best breakfast joint. "Rick is a wonderful storyteller, and more important than the story he conveys is his fun-loving spirit that he so freely shares with the audience. He is alive in his work in a magical way that wakes up audience members of all ages. His stories were the highlight of our Harvest Festival." - Lori Walker, President and Founder, Village Home Education Resource Center |
